Marian Podgoreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorio Carlomagno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the game, Cipriano Olivar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Marian Podgoreanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cipriano Olivar might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marian Podgoreanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cipriano Olivar ran back to his position shaking his head. If Jaime Peyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nechifor Ciocârlan fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's protests and gave Nechifor Ciocârlan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, Nechifor Ciocârlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Cipriano Olivar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marian Podgoreanu was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Marian Podgoreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Peyo in the 19th minute of the match. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Marian Podgoreanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Olivar in the 26th minute of play. Jaime Peyo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Marian Podgoreanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tudor Bărbânță during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th match minute, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tudor Bărbânță to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Hugo Txeru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marian Podgoreanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Felix Chirtoacă hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the game, Domingos Peter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Machine Gun Kelly's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC UNIREA Alba Iulia the free kick. After a rather tough play, Machine Gun Kelly's Domingos Peter got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 43 played minutes Machine Gun Kelly got a freekick which was hit by Moises Venceslas. Tudor Bărbânță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Domingos Peter put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Marian Podgoreanu. After the first half Machine Gun Kelly were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tudor Bărbânță was the one to do the kick off. Marian Podgoreanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Domingos Peter in the 53rd minute. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Domingos Peter took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Marian Podgoreanu to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Tudor Bărbânță managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's supporters rose to their feet, but Tudor Bărbânță was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramiro Gagriel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marian Podgoreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Peter, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. If Domingos Peter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 70th play minutes Domingos Peter shot 0-6, a short shot which went by Marian Podgoreanu and just under the crossbar into goal. Machine Gun Kelly's Cayetano Ihintza was substituted for Domingos Peter. Cayetano Ihintza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Marian Podgoreanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Teodoro Ishmael left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Machine Gun Kelly fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Marian Podgoreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cayetano Ihintza in the 85th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the game, Jaime Peyo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marian Podgoreanu. Jaime Peyo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. In the 92nd minute Cayetano Ihintza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Podgoreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97th play minutes Cayetano Ihintza shot 0-9, a short shot which went by Marian Podgoreanu and just under the crossbar into goal. When the match was over Machine Gun Kelly could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC UNIREA Alba Iulia throughout the match.
