A collision led to Fortuna Galaxy getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Felix Malmgren hit a great ball. After having played for 9 minutes, Herminio Perfecto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bärskillarnas Bollklubb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herminio Perfecto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Fortuna Galaxy getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Christer Stålman hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Fortuna Galaxy's zone, Per Kvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Georg Nyström came out of the goal and Per Kvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eustacio Birila recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Fortuna Galaxy's goalkeeper Georg Nyström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Fortuna Galaxy booed when Bärskillarnas Bollklubb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Birila didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herminio Perfecto hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After 31 played minutes Bärskillarnas Bollklubb got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson Romero. Fortuna Galaxy's attentive Jan-Olof Sillén managed to snatch the ball when Isaac Sundén made a throw-in in the 45th minute of the game. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Fortuna Galaxy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bärskillarnas Bollklubb the free kick. Herminio Perfecto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Georg Nyström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
